Bidrohi - The Rebel

The Bengali poet Kazi Nazrul Islam wrote his magnum opus Bidrohi, The Rebel, in 1921. The moods, shades and nuances of the poetry has been dramatised into an unique dance opera/drama with simultaneous narration in Bengali and English. Bidrohi is performed to specially created music by award-winning dancers who enact the different moods that the poet takes us through in the journey of 'The Rebel'. The dancers re-imagine the piece for each performance as the interpret the mood and the audience on different occasions.
